MOSCOW. May 3 (Interfax) - Russia's nuclear deterrence activities are defensive in nature and are aimed at guaranteed protection of territorial integrity, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin held a briefing for the military attaches of friendly countries on May 3, the ministry said in its report.
"The Russian approaches to nuclear deterrence were communicated based on doctrinal documents. It was noted that the activities of the Russian Federation in the sphere of nuclear deterrence are defensive in nature and are aimed at guaranteed protection of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
