MOSCOW. May 3 (Interfax) - The Zvezda Research, Development & Production Enterprise (NPP) is making a new batch of Orlan spacesuits to be used for spacewalks from the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), Roscosmos said on Wednesday.
"We expect to produce one space suit in 2024 and the other two in 2025. They will be made using domestic materials," the state corporation's press service said.
"Spare parts have been made and are being delivered to the station, to [allow us to] continue using two Orlan ISS spacesuits," Roscosmos said.
The new spacesuits are being made according to an order from the Energia Space Rocket Corporation, the press service said.
