MOSCOW. May 4 (Interfax) - The command and observation posts of two Ukrainian brigades and the Ukrainian Armed Forces' southern Special Operations Forces center have been hit in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions and the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"The command and observation posts of units of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, the 54th Mechanized Brigade and the Ukrainian Armed Forces' South Center for Special Operations Forces were hit near Novoandreyevka in the Zaporozhye region, Belogorovka in the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) and Nestryga Island in the Kherson region," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Thursday.
Additionally, a fuel storage facility of the Ukrainian group of forces was destroyed near the city of Kirovograd (Kropivnitsky), he added.
Three Ukrainian army ammunition depots were destroyed near Slavyansk in the Donetsk People's Republic, Belogorovka in the LPR and Volchansk in the Kharkov region, Konashenkov also said.
Russian troops hit 103 Ukrainian army artillery units at firing positions, troops and military hardware in 118 areas over the past 24 hours, he said.
"Air defense assets intercepted nine projectiles of the HIMARS, Uragan and Smerch multiple rocket launchers over the past 24 hours. Fourteen Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed, as well," Konashenkov said.
