U.S. has nothing to do with drone incident in Moscow - White House

WASHINGTON. May 4 (Interfax) - The United States has nothing to do with the drone attack on the Kremlin and does not encourage such actions of Ukraine outside the national borders, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House John Kirby said.

"I did see comments from Dmitry Peskov this morning [...] claiming that we had something to do with this in Washington. I can assure you that there was no involvement by the United States. Whatever this was, it didn't involve us," Kirby said on the MSNBC television channel.

He noted that the United States did not dictate how Ukraine should "defend themselves" and did not encourage Kiev to strike on territories of other countries.

He also said that the United States still did not have a full picture of the Moscow incident.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier on Thursday that the decision to strike the Kremlin with drones was made in Washington rather than in Kiev.

The Kremlin's press service said on Wednesday that "the Kiev regime attempted a strike on the Kremlin residence of the Russian president by unmanned aerial vehicles" in the early hours of May 3. Moscow said it reserved the right "to retaliate wherever and whenever it deems necessary".
