Armenia set to achieve results in talks with Azerbaijan - Pashinyan

YEREVAN. May 4 (Interfax) - Yerevan hopes for results in talks with Baku, and believes there is no alternative to peace, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"We are deeply involved in talks with Azerbaijan and will remain involved in the future, with the intention of recording results and not [just] negotiating for the sake of negotiation. Regardless of all the difficulties, Armenia is committed to the peace agenda. There is no alternative to peace in our region," Pashinyan said at a joint press conference with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in Prague on Thursday.

The situation in the region remains tense, he said.

"We consider it necessary to send an international fact-finding mission to Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor. We hope that Azerbaijan will give up the use of force and the threat of force, and we also expect the international community to make the same appeal to Azerbaijan," Pashinyan said.
