CHISINAU. May 4 (Interfax) - The Moldovan National Army will conduct annual training exercises involving reservists, the press service of the country's defense ministry told Interfax on Thursday.
The drills will take place from May 15 to 19 and from May 22 to 26. Reservists who will be involved in the exercises will be called up through regional military centers.
"The exercises will be conducted to review reservists' skills and to familiarize them with the army's equipment and weapons. They will be held in line with the National Army's training plan endorsed at the end of 2022," the press service said.
"The exercises are unrelated to the situation in the region," it said.
The ministry warned previously that failing to show up for an exercise without a valid reason could lead to a fine of up to 32,500 lei (about $1,750) or up to 150 hours of community work.
