Ukrainian delegation tries to disrupt State Duma deputy's speech at PABSEC summit - press service

MOSCOW. May 4 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian delegation has tried to disrupt a Russian delegation's speeches at a summit of speakers from the countries of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC)'s Parliamentary Assembly, the press service for Olga Timofeyeva, acting head of the Russian delegation and chairperson of the State Duma Civil Society Development Committee, said.

"The Ukrainians tried to interrupt a speech by Olga Timofeyeva, acting head of the Russian delegation and chairperson of the State Duma Civil Society Development Committee, shouting anti-Russian slogans and unfolding flags. However, they did not manage to disrupt the speech," the committee press service told reporters on Thursday.

The head of the State Duma's International Affairs Committee, Leonid Slutsky, said "the behavior of the Ukrainian delegation, which tried to disrupt a speech by State Duma deputy Olga Timofeyeva at the PABSEC summit in Ankara, is unacceptable."

Slutsky also thanked "the Turkish side for its constructive position" in the situation.

The summit, along with the 61st PABSEC General Assembly, is being held in Ankara on May 4-5.
