MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax) - Russian forces have downed two Ukrainian Sukhoi Su-25 attack planes in the Kherson region, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Air defense has downed two Su-25 planes of the Ukrainian Air Force near Zolotaya Balka and Tyaginka in the Kherson region," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.
Seven projectiles fired from U.S.-made HIMARS high mobility artillery rocket systems have been intercepted, and 14 Ukrainian drones have been destroyed in the Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions and the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics in the past 24 hours.
In addition, Russian forces hit 107 Ukrainian artillery units at their firing positions, as well as troops and hardware in 123 areas, Konashenkov said.
In total, 418 planes, 230 helicopters, 3,963 drones and 421 air defense missile systems have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation, he said.
