MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax) - Most Russians (78%) are ready to take part in commemorative events dedicated to Victory Day, observed in Russia on May 9, which may be held where they live, according to the results of a poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation, published on its website on Friday.
More than half (58%) of Russians believe that they know the history of Russia's Great Patriotic War well, and this share is 65% among those aged 46-60. Every second (50%) young Russian believes they do. Almost one-third (32%) of respondents believe that their knowledge of Great Patriotic War history is poor. Among the youth (people aged 18-30), 43% think so, the pollsters said.
According to the poll, 7% of respondents were undecided, finding it hard to evaluate the level of their knowledge of this historical period.
The poll was conducted on April 21-23, 2023, among 1,500 people aged 18 and up in 104 populated localities in 53 Russian regions.
