MOSCOW. May 5 (Interfax) - The Russian Ministry of Justice has added former employees of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK, an organization banned in Russia as extremist) Georgi Alburov and Maria Pevchikh, and political scientist and former employee of the Hermitage Capital investment fund, Vladimir Pastukhov, all residing abroad, to the foreign agent list.
"Alburov spread false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, publicly supported introducing restrictive measures against representatives of Russian public authorities. He is an employee of an organization included in the register of foreign agents. He resides outside of Russia and is on the wanted list," the Russian Justice Ministry said in a release on Friday. The foreign agent register on the ministry's website was updated on Friday evening.
"Pevchikh disseminated views aimed at forming a negative image of Russia and publicly supported introducing restrictive measures against representatives of Russian public authorities. She called for overthrowing the existing state authorities of the Russian Federation. She holds a managerial position in an organization included in the register of foreign agents," it said.
Pastukhov "spread unreliable information about decisions being adopted by public authorities and the policy pursued by them. He took part in creating foreign agents' materials for an indefinite circle of persons," it said.
The ministry also designated political scientists Yan Matveyev and Ivan Preobrazhensky, politician Alexander Osovtsov, performer and former State Duma member Maria Maksakova-Igenbergs, and four entities, specifically, Taiga-Info LLC, the women's sociopolitical movement Soft Power, the North Caucasus SOS Crisis Group, and St. Petersburg Russian Pen Club as foreign agents in Russia.
