Russia ready to help Kyrgyzstan clean up 'uranium heritage' - Mishustin

MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - The Russian government will elaborate a new program to help Kyrgyzstan clean up the "uranium heritage," Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"Rosatom has been doing a lot to remediate the 'uranium heritage' sites in Kyrgyzstan. We are also set to draft a new assistance program for the period until 2032," Mishustin said at a meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov at the Russian government residence on Tuesday.

Japarov arrived in Moscow on Monday for a visit. He met with Russian President Vladimir Putin later that day and attended the Victory Day parade on Moscow's Red Square on Tuesday.

The leaders of Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan also visited Moscow.

Putin met with the foreign guests at an informal breakfast in the Kremlin on May 9.
