Russian cosmonauts to go on spacewalk from ISS on May 12

MOSCOW. May 10 (Interfax) - Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin are due to perform a spacewalk from the International Space Station (ISS) on May 12, Russia's space corporation Roscosmos said on Wednesday.

The crew made preparations for an extravehicular activity (EVA 58) set for May 12 in line with a Russian program, according to Roscosmos's report on the Russian crew's work on board the ISS for the period from May 6 through 9.

Prokopyev and Petelin had previously conducted a spacewalk from the ISS on May 4 to transfer an airlock to the Nauka module using the European Robotic Arm (ERA).

On March 24, Roscosmos announced a series of spacewalks the Russian cosmonauts were to perform in spring and summer 2023 to complete the Nauka module's integration into the Russian segment of the ISS.
