Armenian forces use D-30 howitzers to fire on Azerbaijani army positions near provisional border - Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry

BAKU. May 11 (Interfax) - The Armenian Armed Forces again opened fire on Thursday evening, targeting the positions of the Azerbaijani army near the provisional border, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.

"On May 11, at 5 p.m., the Armenian Armed Forces began shelling the positions of the Azerbaijani army on the provisional border, using D-30 howitzers placed at firing positions in the Basarkecar district, in the vicinity of Zod," the Azerbaijani ministry said.

Azerbaijani troops are undertaking measures in response, it said.

The ministry said earlier on Thursday that shelling by the Armenian Armed Forces had killed one Azerbaijani soldier near the border. Another soldier was injured, it said.

Yerevan said that the Azerbaijani side had shelled Armenian positions near the populated locality of Sotq, using artillery and mortars. The Armenian side reported that four people were injured.
