BAKU/YEREVAN. May 11 (Interfax) - The Armenian Armed Forces again opened fire on Thursday evening, targeting the positions of the Azerbaijani army near the provisional border, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
"On May 11, at 5 p.m., the Armenian Armed Forces began shelling the positions of the Azerbaijani army on the provisional border, using D-30 howitzers placed at firing positions in the Basarkecar district, in the vicinity of Zod," the Azerbaijani ministry said.
Azerbaijani troops are undertaking measures in response, it said.
The ministry said earlier on Thursday that shelling by the Armenian Armed Forces had killed one Azerbaijani soldier near the border. Another soldier was severely injured, it said.
The Armenian Defense Ministry said for its part that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces employed artillery on Thursday evening to fire on Armenian positions in the vicinity of Norabak, in the east of the country.
"At 6:25 p.m. the Azerbaijani Armed Forces violated the truce near Norabak, using artillery systems," the press service for the Armenian Defense Ministry said.
The Armenian side has reported no casualties.
Norabak is 12 km to the south of the populated locality of Sotq, which saw the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides exchange fire during the day on Thursday. Four troops were earlier reported to have been injured.
