Azerbaijani troops fire mortars - Armenian defense ministry

YEREVAN. May 11 (Interfax) - Armenian positions near Verin Shorzha in the country's east came under Azerbaijani mortar fire on Thursday evening, the Armenian Defense Ministry's press service said.

"As of 7:50 p.m., Azerbaijani military units broke the truce in the area of Verin Shorzha by using mortars," the press service said.

There were no losses on the Armenian side, it said.

On Thursday morning, the ministry reported an artillery and mortar attack on its positions near Sotk, and an artillery attack near Norabak in the evening.

Both villages are situated in Armenia's eastern Gegharkunik region within ten to 20 kilometers of one another, and approximately 20 km east of Lake Sevan.
