MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - The Russian Black Sea Fleet will receive three small missile ships and a patrol ship this year, the fleet's Commander Vice Admiral Viktor Sokolov said.
"Three state-of-the-art Karakurt-series small missile ships equipped with precision-guided missile weapons and a new patrol ship are expected to join the fleet in 2023," Sokolov said in an interview with the Russian Defense Ministry's Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
Project 22800 Karakurt multirole small missile ships are designed to operate in coastal maritime zones and are equipped with eight-cell launch systems for Kalibr and Oniks missiles.
