BAKU. May 12 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received Russian Foreign Ministry Special Representative for Normalizing Azerbaijani-Armenian Relations Igor Khovayev in Baku on Friday.
"During the meeting, the parties discussed the process of normalizing Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, negotiations on a peace agreement, and the current situation in the region," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
Bayramov informed Khovayev of Azerbaijan's position and priorities in the negotiations on a peace agreement with Armenia and its expectations for this process, as well as about Armenia's provocative steps which undermine the peace process and negotiations, it said.
Khovayev highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the South Caucasus, and assured Bayramov that Russia is willing to facilitate this as much as it can.
Bayramov and Khovayev also "exchanged opinions on other issues of common interest," it said.
