Aliyev, European Commission vice-president discuss Azerbaijani-EU energy cooperation

BAKU. May 15 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic have discussed Azerbaijani-EU energy cooperation.

"The two sides discussed energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union at a meeting in Brussels on Saturday. [...] The sides underlined the successful implementation of a project aimed at boosting Azerbaijan's gas supply to Europe, and the importance of broadening the geographic range of customers for Azerbaijani gas in Europe," says a statement published on the Azerbaijani presidential website.

The meeting also addressed Azerbaijani-EU cooperation in renewable energy, and noted the major prospects for cooperation in this area.
