MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - Military-technical cooperation between Russia and Belarus has reached its highest level, Rosoboronexport head Alexander Mikheyev said.
"We are observing the highest level of cooperation between our countries, mutual trust, and an unprecedented scale of industrial cooperation in the joint design and manufacturing of modern products," Mikheyev said ahead of the MILEX 2023 international arms exhibition, which will take place in Minsk on May 17-20.
At the exhibition, Russia will present a broad range of military and special-purpose products, demonstrating the strong technological potential of domestic companies, he said.
"In all, 17 manufacturing companies, including large holdings of the Rostec state corporation, will display their products at the Russian exposition. Rosoboronexport will present models of modern aircraft, including the Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A military transport plane, the Sukhoi Su-35 super-maneuverable multirole fighter jet, the Mil Mi-17V-5 military transport helicopter, the Mil Mi-35M combat transport helicopter, and upgraded Mil Mi-28NE and Kamov Ka-52 combat helicopters," the Rosoboronexport press service said.
Almaz-Antey will showcase its air defense systems, including the Viking, Tor-M2KM and Pantsir-S1, it said.
"Rosoboronexport will also present some of the most promising ground forces weapons, including, the T-90MS tank, the BTR-82A armored personnel carrier, the TOS-1A heavy flamethrower, the Kornet-EM anti-tank missile system, as well as Taifun-K, K-53949 and Taifun-VDV armored vehicles, and the Linza armored evacuation vehicle," the press service said.
New firearms "and the most advanced and effective equipment for law enforcement agencies and special units" will also be shown at the exhibition, it said.
"A light electroshock shield with additional anti-inflammatory protection, as well as a barrelless pistol with various types of ammunition - traumatic, tear gas and others - will provide individual protection for law enforcement officers at close range. Non-lethal weapons are indispensable for security and law enforcement personnel. The exhibition will showcase electroshock devices with wide-ranging ergonomic capabilities, in various form factors, including those with remote exposure and metal detector functions," the press service said.
