MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - Russian forces have downed Ukrainian Mil Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Fighter jets of the Russian Aerospace Forces have downed Mil Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters of the Ukrainian Air Force near Selidovo and Brusovka in the DPR," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Monday.
A U.S.-made AN/TPQ-37 counter-mortar radar was destroyed near Krivaya Luka in the DPR, he said.
Russian aircraft and artillery hit 68 Ukrainian artillery units at their firing positions, in addition to troops and military hardware in 97 areas during the past 24 hours, Konashenkov said.
