Russian Defense Ministry reports intercepting Ukrainian Storm Shadow cruise missile

MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has reported intercepting a Ukrainian Storm Shadow cruise missile and seven HARM anti-radiation missiles.

"Air defense intercepted seven HARM anti-radiation missiles, one Storm Shadow long-range cruise missile, and ten projectiles [fired by] HIMARS high mobility artillery missile systems over the past day," ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Monday.

The ministry said earlier that Ukraine fired Storm Shadow missiles, which were supplied by the United Kingdom, at Lugansk on May 12.

Konashenkov said at the press briefing on Monday that Russian forces had downed 21 Ukrainian drones in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions and in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.

In total, 425 Ukrainian planes, 233 helicopters, 4,156 drones, 421 air defense missile systems, 9,169 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,100 multiple rocket launchers, 4,821 artillery systems and mortars, and 10,214 special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation, Konashenkov said.
