Airstrike destroys road near Krasnoye used to transport Ukrainian reinforcements to Artyomovsk - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Russian aircraft have struck a road near the Krasnoye village used to transport Ukrainian army reinforcements to Artyomovsk (Bakhmut), Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"A road used to transport reinforcements of the enemy to the city of Artyomovsk has been destroyed by an airstrike near the populated locality of Krasnoye in the Donetsk People's Republic," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

"The most difficult situation" has taken shape near the village of Krasnoye, where the 4th Motorized Infantry Brigade deterred ten Ukrainian attacks over the past day, he said.

"More than 70 Ukrainian troops were killed and an infantry fighting vehicle and two armored personnel carriers were destroyed in the fierce fighting," Konashenkov said.
