MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - The Russian military has reported the interception of seven Storm Shadow cruise missiles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Air defense has intercepted seven Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles, three HARM anti-radiation missiles and seven projectiles of HIMARS high mobility artillery rocket systems over the day," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported the interception of one Storm Shadow missile of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on May 15.
The ministry said earlier that Ukraine fired Storm Shadow air-launched missiles, provided by the United Kingdom, at Lugansk on May 12.
Konashenkov also said on Tuesday that Russian forces had destroyed 22 Ukrainian drones in the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
"Tactical aircraft, army aviation and artillery from the Russian contingent hit 75 Ukrainian artillery units on firing positions, as well as troops and military hardware in 102 areas," Konashenkov said.
In all, 427 Ukrainian planes, 233 helicopters, 4,178 drones, 422 air defense missile systems, 9,176 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,100 multiple rocket launchers, 4,828 artillery systems and mortars, and 10,233 special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation, he said.
