Russian Northern Fleet fighter jets practice group strike at exercise in Arctic region

MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Sukhoi Su-33 and Su-30SM fighter jets are practicing a group strike on ground and surface targets over the Kola Peninsula during an exercise, the Russian Northern Fleet's press service said on Tuesday.

"During scheduled flights, Su-33 and Su-30SM fighter jets in pairs practiced elements of combat maneuvering with a simulated group strike on ground and surface targets," the statement said.

"Su-25UTG aircraft performed flights at medium and high altitudes to practice air combat skills with a maneuvering target using offensive and defensive combat maneuvers," the press service said.

The planes performed "test flights in pairs for complex aerobatics" at low altitudes, the military said.
