Russian prosecutor general, Iranian Supreme Court chair discuss pressing issues facing both countries

MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov and Iranian Supreme Court Chair Sayyed Ahmad Mortazavi Moghadam have discussed Western entities' interference in Russia and Iran's internal affairs, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

"Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov met with Iranian Supreme Court Chair Sayyed Ahmad Mortazavi Moghadam in Moscow today," the press service for the Russian Prosecutor General's Office said on Tuesday.

Krasnov invited the Iranian Supreme Court chair to share experience, "including in dealing with problems which are obviously of a similar nature for Russia and Iran, as they are created on purpose essentially by the same people," the press service said.

"I should say in this connection that, in my opinion, Russia has developed effective laws and law enforcement practices for countering the attempts of Western entities to interfere in our internal affairs, destabilize the economic situation, and disturb social peace," the press service quoted Krasnov as saying.

He said he was "confident that today's meeting will serve as a starting point for the establishment of close, fruitful contacts between the two agencies."
