MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian citizen Yury Denisov is wanted as an accomplice in the murder of military blogger Maxim Fomin (aka Vladlen Tatarsky) in St. Petersburg, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Telegram on Wednesday.
"A series of investigative and operational procedures have helped identify Ukrainian citizen Yury Denisov as an accomplice in this crime. He has been charged in absentia and placed on the wanted list," the committee said.
According to investigators, "Denisov is a member of an organized criminal group, which committed the terror attack."
"He arrived in Russia in February 2023 to take part in preparations for the crime, and gave the bust with explosives to Darya Trepova (listed as a terrorist and extremist), which she brought to a cafe for a meeting with Fomin (Tatarsky). There was an explosion, which took the blogger's life," the committee said.
The explosion rocked a cafe in St. Petersburg on April 2, killing Fomin (Tatarsky) and injuring more than 50 people.
The Russian Investigative Committee is conducting an investigation on counts of conspiracy to commit murder and the illegal carrying of explosive devices by an organized group.
Trepova was arrested and indicted.
