MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova has backed the call to exempt fathers of disabled children from mobilization.
"Fifty-two of 424 demobilized servicemen are fathers of multiple children. Only two out of 349 are fathers of disabled children. We continue to support the call for adding this category to exceptions from mobilization," Moskalkova said in the annual report for 2022 given to the State Duma on Wednesday.
The ombudsman's office has received 4,703 applications in defense of mobilized men's rights, Moskalkova said. Out of that number, 773 applications concerned fathers with three children or disabled children, she said.
"In each case, we contacted military commands and military prosecution services," Moskalkova said.
