VORONEZH. May 19 (Interfax) - The authorities of Russia's Kursk region will ban local residents from using unmanned aerial vehicles, Kursk region Governor Roman Starovoit said.
"We earlier advised Kursk residents to avoid using drones for personal purposes, but because of persistent provocations from the neighboring territory, it was decided at the latest operational headquarters meeting to ban any use of drones," Starovoit wrote on Telegram on Friday.
The ban will apply until the medium response level, which is currently in force throughout the region, is lifted, Starovoit said.
The yellow (high) terrorist alert level has been in effect in the Kursk region since April 11, 2022. The region borders Ukraine and has repeatedly been attacked.
