Azerbaijan's territory recognized by Armenia includes Nagorno-Karabakh - Pashinyan (Part 2)

YEREVAN. May 22 (Interfax) - A territory 86,600 square kilometers in size recognized by Armenia as Azerbaijan's territory includes Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"The territory of 86,600 square kilometers also includes Nagorno-Karabakh," Pashinyan said at a press conference on Monday.

"It's important to record Yerevan's statement that the rights and security of Nagorno-Karabakh's Armenians should be discussed in a Baku-Stepanakert negotiating format," he said.

Armenia's territory of 29,800 square kilometers and Azerbaijan's territory of 86,600 square kilometers also include enclaves, he said.

"This also concerns Artsvashen [an Armenian enclave in Azerbaijan]. This is a political position. The legal aspect has yet to be considered and discussed. There are two options: either these enclaves remain as they are, or they are returned under the countries' sovereignty on legal grounds," Pashinyan said.
