BRUSSELS. May 23 (Interfax) - The defense ministers of the European Union countries have failed to agree on the allocation of another tranche of military aid for Ukraine, the matter will be discussed further at a technical level, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said on Tuesday.
"We consider it possible to allocate another 500 million [euros]. But we are still discussing this and I hope this week we will overcome the obstacles to having this sum approved. [...] Currently, there is no unity on the matter," Borrell said during a press conference.
Yesterday, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said his country's authorities did not want to support further EU sanctions against Russia. He also said that Budapest would block another tranche of EU financial assistance, at 500 million euros, over Kiev's actions.
