Baku, Islamabad discuss Azerbaijani-Pakistani-Turkish exercises

BAKU. May 24 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani First Deputy Defense Minister, General Staff Chief Kerim Veliyev has met with Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir during a visit to Pakistan.

"The meeting reaffirmed the importance of broader contacts between the two countries' army branches, joint Azerbaijani-Pakistani-Turkish exercises, and the further development of bilateral cooperation. The sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the military, military-technical and military education spheres, and other issues related to counterterrorism and security," the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.

Munir said at the meeting that Pakistan attached special significance to military cooperation with Azerbaijan and underlined the vast potential for further developing military contacts, the ministry said.
