ROSTOV-ON-DON. May 24 (Interfax) - The apartment of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's family in Yalta that was nationalized on Wednesday will be sold at an auction, with the sale proceeds to be channeled to help the participants in the Russian special military operation and their families, Crimean State Council Speaker Vladimir Konstantinov said.
"The auction procedure, the sale are to follow, and the money will go primarily for the needs of the special military operation, the families of the casualties, the families of the mobilized servicemen - this is the social aspect of this whole policy," Konstantinov said on the Rossiya-24 television channel.
He added that a specifically created entity for property management deals with the entire procedure following the nationalization of facilities in Crimea.
"You have to keep in mind that this work is not as simple as it may seem at first glance, from the technical point of view, because there are a great deal of technical specifications, inventory on the ground. Thus, it will take us a little time, but, in principle, some of the enterprises will start the procedure of sale, auction in the near future. Everything will be used for good," Konstantinov said.
The Crimean State Council on Wednesday adopted a resolution on the nationalization of 57 other real estate objects in Crimea belonging to Russian citizens, affiliated organizations and foreign individuals, who are planning or committing unfriendly acts against Russia. Zelensky's apartment in Yalta was also among the properties.
Previously, representatives of the Crimean authorities said that Zelensky's family owned an apartment in the Imperator residential area in Livadia.
