Suspected mercenaries from Sweden, Croatia, UK to go on trial at court in southern Russia on May 31

ROSTOV-ON-DON. May 24 (Interfax) - The Southern District Military Court in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don has set the date for the first court session in a case opened into five foreign mercenaries' participation in the armed conflict, the court's press service said on Wednesday.

"The first court session is due to start at 10:00 a.m. Moscow time on May 31," the press service said.

The defendants include Swedish citizen Mathias Gustafsson, Croatian citizen Vjekoslav Prebeg and British citizens John Harding, Dylan Healy and Andrew Hill, it said.

Depending on each of their roles, they have been charged with providing training in terrorism and with participating in the armed conflict as mercenaries.
