Azerbaijani FM, U.S. diplomat discuss Baku-Yerevan peace process

BAKU. May 24 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with United States Secretary of State's Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations Louis Bono on Wednesday.

"During the meeting, the parties discussed the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the current condition of negotiations on a draft agreement On the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations, outcomes of recent meetings held in this context, and prospects for negotiations," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

Bayramov yet again drew the U.S. attention to Baku's position on unblocking transport routes in the region and the delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, it said.

Bono said the U.S. was willing to support this process in any possible way. He insisted on the need to maintain peace and accord for the region's development.

"The parties also exchanged opinions on other issues of mutual interest," it said.
