Peskov: We knew that Kiev regime was behind drone attack on Kremlin

MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - Russia knew that the Kiev regime was behind the drone strike on the Kremlin in the early hours of May 3, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"We said right away that the Kiev regime was behind this. After all, it does not make much difference which unit of the Kiev regime is responsible. The Kiev regime is the mastermind, we know that, we are aware of that, and this is what we proceed from in planning our work," Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

He was asked to comment on a report by The New York Times, which referred to informed U.S. sources and said that a Ukrainian security service might be responsible for the drone incident in the Kremlin in early May.

The Russian presidential administration said earlier that the attempted drone attack on the Kremlin in the early hours of May 3 was initiated by the Kiev regime and described it, in particular, as "a terror attack plot and an attempt on the life" of Vladimir Putin.
