VORONEZH. May 25 (Interfax) - Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia's Belgorod region, has reported new Ukrainian attacks on the region in the past 24 hours.
In particular, the Belgorod region came under 16 attacks on May 24, Gladkov said. Fifteen artillery shells hit Varishkin, Naumovka and Zhuravlyovka. A drone was downed on approach to Solomino.
"There were neither casualties nor damage in all four attacks," Gladkov said on Telegram.
A drone dropped a bomb near Lozovaya Rudka in the Borisovka district, no one was hurt, and no damage was sustained, he said.
"Our air defense was activated in the Valuyki urban district. There are no effects seen on the ground," Gladkov said.
Nine mortar shells were fired at Stary in the Volokonovka district. There are neither casualties nor damage.
There were 87 attacks on the Graivoron urban district. An elderly woman was hurt.
Eighty-four shells fired at the Kozinka border checkpoint sparked a fire. Dronovka was hit by three mortar shells, there are no casualties yet a private house was damaged.
According to Gladkov, the Krasnaya Yaruga district was attacked by drones five times. There were three drone attacks on Staroselye and two drones were downed. Another two drones were shot down in Vyazovoye. There were no casualties or damage in these instances.
Three drones were downed in Maslova Pristan, Sereda and Grafovka in the Shebekino urban district. Terezovka came under mortar and artillery attacks twice.
"A man suffered leg injuries. There was no damage. The Shebekino border checkpoint was hit by mortars, and the town itself was attacked by artillery. There are no casualties or damage," Gladkov said.
