Russian ship conducts Baltic Sea drills with mock missiles

MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax) - The small missile ship Serpukhov has conducted missile and artillery drills with naval and coastal targets in the Baltic Sea, the Baltic Fleet said in a statement on Thursday.

"Specialists from the ship's missile and artillery combat unit practiced simulated mass cruise missile strikes on remote naval and coastal targets," the statement said.

While at sea, the crew fired artillery at a mock enemy warship, it said.

"The crew conducted shooting practice with the shipborne A-190 and AK-630-M2 artillery systems against mock airborne targets and special luminescent shells fired from a divisional 152mm Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer from Cape Taran in the Kaliningrad region," the statement said.

"During the artillery drills, all safety norms and requirements were strictly complied with. Compliance during combat training was ensured by surface and support ships of the Baltic Fleet," it said.
