VORONEZH. May 29 (Interfax) - Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia's Belgorod region, has reported numerous Ukrainian attacks on the region observed on May 28.
The region was hit 63 times over the past day, Gladkov said.
"Seven artillery shells were fired at the villages of Lozovoye and Solntsevka, in addition to 11 shells that hit the village of Shchetinovka. The village of Dragunskoye was attacked twice by drones, which dropped improvised bombs. The village of Zhuravlyovka was hit 36 times by both artillery and AGS [automatic grenade launchers]. There are neither casualties nor damage," Gladkov said on Telegram on Monday.
The Volokonovka district came under 23 attacks in the past 24 hours, while mortars and tube artillery hit the village of Stary 23 times. No one is hurt, and there is no damage.
"There were 101 attacks on the Graivoron urban district. Ninety mortar shells were fired at the village of Kozinka, besides two shells fired at a local border checkpoint. A gas pipeline was damaged. Mortars shelled the villages of Dronovka and Mokraya Orlovka, which were hit three and six times, respectively. There are neither casualties nor damage," Gladkov said.
The Shebekino urban district saw 116 attacks, he said.
"Mortar shells, SPG-9 and kamikaze drones attacked the checkpoint 14 times, and a TV tower was damaged," Gladkov said.
Door-to-door inspections in the town of Shebekino revealed damage of four apartment buildings, 60 apartments, nine private houses and five cars.
The village of Voznesenovka was hit 29 times, including by seven mortar shells. An industrial enterprise came under 22 artillery attacks. The facade of an administrative building, a water cleaning station, a fence and a power substation were damaged. No one was hurt.
Seven mortar shells were fired and two bombs were dropped by drones in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the Shebekino district. Eight private houses are damaged, with facades, windows and fences scratched by fragments, and damage has been done to roofs. Three cars were damaged, as well.
"Six mortar shells were fired at the town of Leninsky, in addition to four at the village of Sereda and two at the village of Belyanka. There are neither casualties nor damage," Gladkov said.
There were 14 artillery strikes on the village of Murom, where four private houses were damaged, he said.
The village of Bezlyudovka was hit 38 times by multiple rocket launchers and artillery. The attacks disrupted power supply to the villages of Arkhangelskoye, Ziborovka, Murom, Sereda and Nekhoteyevka.
