Rosoboronexport to present underwater drone at St. Petersburg Int'l Maritime Defense Show

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Rosoboronexport will present the Klavesin-1RE underwater drone at the St. Petersburg International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS), the company's press service said in a statement.

"The brand new Klavesin-1RE underwater drone is a sample of modern high-tech systems designed by the Russian defense industry. This is an authentic Russian product with a number of unique characteristics, which will make it a top-shelf item in the segment. The vehicle will be in demand by both our country and foreign clients," the press service quoted Rosoboronexport head Alexander Mikheyev as saying on Tuesday.

The Klavesin-1RE underwater drone will perform surveillance operations and will examine objects on the bottom at depths of five to 6,000 meters in autonomous mode and when directed from the carrier ship via hydroacoustic communication channel, the press service said.

"Rosoboronexport is ready to deliver Klavesin-1RE as an end product and to develop industrial cooperation to the benefit of navies of our partners," Mikheyev said.

The IMDS 2023 will be held in St. Petersburg on June 21-25.
