MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Western countries are demanding that Kiev begin a large-scale offensive and stepping up supplies of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"Despite considerable losses in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Western sponsors keep demanding that the Kiev regime launch large-scale offensive operations. Supplies of hardware and weapons to Ukraine are being stepped up," Shoigu said at a teleconference on Tuesday.
Russia tracks the volumes and routes of these shipments and strikes the relevant targets after identifying them, he said.
"Large storages of Western weapons have been destroyed in the past few days in Khmelnitsky, Ternopol, and Nikolayev, and an American Patriot air defense system in Kiev was struck," Shoigu said.
The West's military support to Kiev is only prolonging the fighting but cannot influence its outcome, he said.
