MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - The latest attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles on Moscow and its surroundings were targeted at civilian areas, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"It's clear that, no matter what we say, they'll always look for culprits in Russia in particular, but this is wrong, it wasn't us who launched this war. I repeat: the Kiev regime launched a war in Donbass in 2014, and it's not us who use the methods that are used by the Ukrainian higher-ups," Putin said when commenting on the drone attacks on the city of Moscow and the Moscow region on Tuesday.
"And the attack on civilian areas in Moscow is further proof of that," he said.
Putin reiterated that the region's air defense system performed well, although he noted that "we still have work to do."
"And we know what we are going to do," he said.
