MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - The Russian defense industry is running at full capacity and military hardware is continuously being improved, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
"The defense industry is a special sector which is running at full capacity. Defense facilities have increased the output of products needed for the special military operation many times over," Mishustin said in a video address to an expanded board meeting of the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry in Moscow on Wednesday.
"At the same time, weapons and military hardware are being constantly improved," he said.
Mishustin thanked everyone working at defense plants.
"Russian industry generally achieves its targets. It's important that we do everything necessary to increase the share of manufacturing industries in national GDP by the end of this year. Intermediate results for the first four months [of 2023] indicate that this is a realistic objective," he said.
