UAC supplies another batch of Su-34 frontline bombers to Russian Aerospace Forces

MOSCOW. June 1 (Interfax) - Another batch of new Sukhoi Su-34 aircraft has been delivered to the Russian Aerospace Forces, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) said in a statement on Thursday.

"The planes have passed ground and airborne tests, and have been transferred to the Russian Defense Ministry," the UAC said.

The planes were made at Novosibirsk's Chkalov Aircraft Plant.

"Sukhoi Su-34 frontline bombers are an important part of Russian frontline aviation's offensive potential. The Su-34 have broader combat capabilities, which allow it to use state-of-the-art air-launched weapons, increase the range of effective strikes on ground and surface targets, and enhance its bombing precision," the UAC said.

The corporation "is supplying aircraft under this year's program," UAC General Director Yury Slyusar said.

"Another Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A aircraft was delivered to military transport aviation yesterday. The batch of Su-34 planes is the first shipment of tactical aircraft made this year. Rostec's UAC has an important task to provide the Russian Defense Ministry with new, highly effective aircraft," the statement quoted Slyusar as saying.
