MOSCOW. June 1 (Interfax) - Russia has produced more than 600 battle tanks so far this year, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said.
"On a majority of production parameters for military equipment, special equipment, weapons, we have reached the level that a while ago seemed like a fantasy to us, I won't cite figures for understandable reasons, all the more so because they vary," Medvedev told military trainees at a training range in the Volgograd region.
"Yes, there is still something to work on, but if we take the most significant things - shells, tube artillery, tank output - these figures are very impressive," he said.
"This year alone, our industry has manufactured over 600 tanks," Medvedev said.
