MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - More than 280 military units and detachments have been formed in the Russian Armed Forces during the partial mobilization, Deputy Chief of the Russian General Staff Yevgeny Burdinsky said.
"Military enlistment and registration offices, acting together with the executive authorities in constituent territories of the Russian Federation and local self-government bodies, drafted more than 300,000 men for partial mobilization. More than 280 military units and detachments were formed," Burdinsky said in an article for the Defense Ministry's magazine Military Commissariats of Russia.
He singled out two problems revealed by partial mobilization.
"I would note two problems: the lack of some parts of society's readiness to fulfill their military duty, and the provision of weapons, military and special hardware, and accommodation for personnel," Burdinsky said.
"Many volunteers went to military registration and enlistment offices before they were requested to. That happened despite unprecedented pressure from [available] information, especially that coming from bloggers," he said.
"Overall, the human resources that were mobilized in military districts were consistent with the plan and occurred within the prescribed timeframe," Burdinsky said.
