Authorities to deliver water, medicine to Shebekino residents in Belgorod region after shelling

BELGOROD. June 2 (Interfax) - The authorities will deliver water and medicine to residents of the shelled city of Shebekino in Russia's Belgorod region, head of the Shebekino district administration Vladimir Zhdanov said.

"A fairly large number of residents remain in Shebekino, so we are working to organize deliveries of water and medicine and to open certain shops. Network and utility providers will soon begin restoring mobile phone services and the power and water supply," Zhdanov said on Telegram on Friday.

People are being evacuated to safe areas, he said.

"We are continuing to evacuate people from the Shebekino urban district as requested. Regretfully, it is impossible to organize large-scale evacuations by bus for now, as it's not possible or safe to gather people in specific areas because of potential attacks," Zhdanov said.

As reported earlier, two women were killed in a Ukrainian army attack on a road in the village of Maslova Pristan in the Shebekino urban district, while two men received shrapnel wounds and were hospitalized in a severe condition.
