MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - The Russian military is fighting in the vicinity of Avdeyevka and detachments of the Akhmat special unit are conducting offensive operations in the Maryinka tactical sector, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.
"In the Donetsk sector, the southern group of forces has been most active in the Avdeyevka area," Konashenkov said.
"Detachments from the Akhmat special unit are continuing offensive operations in the Maryinka tactical sector," he said.
The Ukrainian army has lost more than 50 troops, four armored combat vehicles, two pickup trucks, three D-20 howitzers, two Grad multiple rocket launchers, two M777 artillery systems and a U.S.-made Paladin self-propelled artillery system, Konashenkov said.
"In the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye sectors, aircraft and artillery from the eastern group of forces hit hostile units near Vodyanoye and Pavlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR] and Malaya Tokmachka and Shcherbaki in the Zaporozhye region," he said.
In those areas, the Ukrainian army has lost up to 150 troops, two trucks, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system, a D-20 howitzer, and a drone control station, Konashenkov said.
"In the Kupyansk sector, aircraft and artillery from the western group of forces hit hostile units near Berestovoye and Masyutovka in the Kharkov region," he said.
A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was neutralized near Novosyolovskoye in the Lugansk People's Republic [LPR], Konashenkov said.
"An ammo depot of the 103rd Territorial Defense Brigade has been destroyed near Kislovka in the Kharkov region," he said.
The Ukrainian army lost up to 70 troops, three trucks, a Grad multiple rocket launcher, and D-30 and Msta-B howitzers there over the past day, he said.
"In the Krasny Liman sector, tactical aircraft, army aviation and artillery from the central group of forces hit Ukrainian army units near Kuzmino in the LPR and Torskoye in the DPR," Konashenkov said.
The Ukrainian army lost more than 60 troops, two pickup trucks, two Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, two D-20 howitzers, and one Msta-B howitzer in this sector.
"In the Kherson sector, the enemy lost more than 30 troops, two pickup trucks, a Msta-B howitzer, and a U.S.-made M777 artillery system to gunfire," Konashenkov said.
