Village in Russia's Kursk region comes under Ukrainian fire - governor

VORONEZH. June 2 (Interfax) - Ukrainian forces have attacked the village of Troitskoye in Russia's Kursk region, governor Roman Starovoit said, noting that no one has been injured.

"The village of Troitskoye in the Korenevo district has come under Ukrainian fire. Totally, we have counted five hits. Luckily, none of the residents have been affected," Starovoit wrote on Telegram on Friday.

Four households and one car have sustained some damage. Door-to-door inspections are continuing, he said.

The governor said earlier that in the early hours of Friday, an air defense system downed several Ukrainian drones near the regional center, the city of Kursk.

A yellow (high) terrorist alert level has been in effect throughout the Kursk region since April 11, 2022. The region borders Ukraine and has come under fire repeatedly.
