Kremlin affirms sufficiency of water reserves in Crimea

MOSCOW. June 6 (Interfax) - Crimea has sufficient water reserves in local reservoirs, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"There are certain reserves. I mean the level of water in local reservoirs," Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

Measures were taken to ensure stable water supply to Crimea before Russia took control of the North Crimean Canal, he said.

A goal of blowing up the dam of the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant, of which Moscow has accused the Ukrainian authorities, is to stop water supply to Crimea, Peskov said.
