Governor of Russia's Belgorod reports 2 casualties, damage from Ukrainian attacks in past 24 hours

VORONEZH. June 6 (Interfax) - Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia's Belgorod region, has reported massive Ukrainian strikes on the region in the past 24 hours.

"A total of 491 munitions were fired at the Shebekino urban district. Most of the strikes on Shebekino hit residential areas. There is one casualty with a shrapnel hand wound," Gladkov said on Telegram on Tuesday.

The number of damaged or destroyed houses and cars is being checked, he said.

The villages of Grafovka and Bezlyudovka were hit by 12 and 15 Grad rockets, respectively, he said, adding there were neither casualties nor damage. Twenty artillery munitions were fired at the village of Murom. No one was hurt. The number of damaged houses and cars is being verified. Novaya Tavolzhanka was hit 105 times, and the enemy dropped bombs from drones on residential buildings 12 times. About 20 houses were damaged. Five mortar shells were fired at the village of Krasnoye, seven in Leninsky, eight in Terezovka and six in Balki. There are no casualties or damage there.

Air defense has been activated twice in the city of Belgorod over the past day. No one was hurt, but two official cars were damaged, Gladkov said.

"Nine mortar shells and five artillery rounds were fired at the village of Zhuravlyovka in the Belgorod district. No one was hurt and no damage was reported. The enemy dropped an improvised bomb from a drone in the village of Dragunskoye. An energy facility was damaged. No one was hurt," Gladkov said.

One house, a power transmission line and eleven cars were hit by fragments of rounds downed by air defense in Razunoye. Nobody is hurt, he said.

The village of Tsapovka was hit by mortars in the Borisovka district. There are no casualties or damage.

One mortar shell was fired at the village of Stary in the Volokonovka district. There are no casualties or damage.

"The Graivoron urban district was hit 49 times, including 42 mortar attacks on the village of Glotovo. A 14-year-old boy was hurt," Gladkov said.

A farm workshop and a private house were damaged there, he said.

Four mortar shells were fired at the outskirts of the village of Kozinka. There are no casualties or damage. Mortars also shelled the outskirts of the Spodaryushino and Pochayevo villages - they were hit once and twice, respectively. No one was hurt, and no damage was reported.

In the Krasnaya Yaruga district, two artillery shells hit the outskirts of the Vyazovoye village. There are no casualties or damage, Gladkov said.
